| One common defense I hear for internet reviewers is that their reviews help promote a film and boost video sales. I'll admit that I've bought and watched numerous films after seeing them satirically reviewed on the internet, a small chunk of which were inspired by the Snob.
I already knew of/had seen the majority of films the Snob's reviewed (so I can't say that, for example, recently watching 'Video Violence' 1 & 2 on a box set of '80s shot-on-video films is solely because of him), but the ones I can exclusively credit him for motivating me to watch were 'Turkish Star Wars', 'Oversexed Rugsuckers from Mars' (which I bought), 'Zombie '90' (it's on YouTube!), 'The Terminator' (1991 remake) and, most notably, 'Nightdreams', which I'd never seen despite loving 'Cafe Flesh' and 'Dr. Caligari'. I also happened to own 'Las Vegas Bloodbath' on a 6-movie set and watched it shortly after his review...I don't recommend it.
Also, I'll be first in line to buy the Chester Novell Turner double-feature DVD coming out in October, and odds are I'm going to have to get around to watching 'Nukie' on YouTube.
Has anybody else been brave enough to seek out a film after seeing it Snobbed?

| I did out of curiosity purchase "Gross Out" on DVD. I'd rather recommend Carl Crew's later work "The Secret Life of Jeffrey Dahmer". | |

| If I want to save some money, all I have to do is just Google a title or go on YouTube. | |

| Well I've *cough*torrented*cough* Troll 2 after seeing the review. I think that for the most part I'm better off just watching the snobbed versions of these movies, other than the ones Brad recommends as himself. Although I don't have quite the same kind of taste in movies than he does. Haven't seen Caligula yet, but I have a feeling it's not gonna jump to the top of my favorites list. | |

| funny story, for many years one of my favorite movies has been the film itself Troll, it's bad yes and that little girl in it is pretty bad to say the least. to put that mildly. he he.
but it's a for me anyways so bad it's good kind of film. and i still enjoy watching it once in a while. anyways i had no idea for most of my life, until like the past decade about these so called Troll Sequels. well after part 2 that is.
the funny part is that for years my brother said how bad Troll 2 was and i was sticking up for it saying oh it can't be that bad. i in fact had never saw it,just piece of it and though it played on tv all the time in the 90's. i'm sure Brad will remember. i never really saw the whole thing cause i kept missing it for some reason. it was normally at the very end. that fucked up ending i don't remember though. fast forward to a few yasrs ago i borrowed the VHS from a friend.
well i did start watching it, and i think i watched oh about 10 minutes of it before i said to myself ok this is it, I CANNOT watch this fucking thing anymore. the acting was soo fucking bad that i literay was pulling my hair out. and so was the film. and i've never looked back since. and for that i don't regret my decision. i don't see how people love it. "The Quest of the mighty sword' i think i did see on 'MSTK3000" though but it's been years! i mean it was i think when it 1st aired i saw it. back in the early 90's. (1993) i believe ? i'm sure Brad knows which episode, the air date and everything for that one. he he.
i really haven't looked up any of the films he's reviewed as the snob but he has done some of my favorite films. and you know what? i'vce had some damn good laughs watching them so it really doesn't bother me if he reviews a favorite film of mine. the sleepway camp films come to mind. i love that film and though he tore it a new asshole.
i never really saw how gay that film is? like nightmare on elm street 2 for example. i did'nt notice it until i watched oddly enough them talking about it on a documentary that came with the (1999) box set of the film. that you had to search for.
but even though Texas Chainsaw is EASILY one of the greatest horror films ever made. it doesn't bother me tha the snobbed it. in fact i'm really shocked he hasn't snobbed Elm Street 2. yes i know that is his favorite one.
but he did snob films he loves. i can't really think of any right now that i've seeked out. cause plenty of them look pretty damn bad so i am not going to want to kill myself by watching them. i had never even heard of the film Nukie. in my life until he snobbed it.
and he has said it's the worst film he's ever seen in his life. that's saying something when he's seen quite a LOT of films. i wonder how long that will last though?

| I think the only one I saw after Snob's review was when I borrowed CALIGULA from a friend.
I will admit I'm tempted to see BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS now.

He probably has, and if he hasn't, then someone should let him know. Mark Pirro is sort of like Lloyd Kaufman in the way that he has a good sense of humor and is a major champion of low-budget filmmaking. Maybe he'd be cool enough to make a cameo in a Snob episode...Brad still hasn't touched 'A Polish Vampire in Burbank' or 'Curse of the Queerwolf', and 'Buford's Beach Bunnies' could make a decent ''80s Dan' episode.

| Saw BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS.
Run of the mill in ways with the story, up until the ending that is. Wow. The story is kind of all over the place with characters, making soap operas look less dramatic. And the directing isn't great as it annoyingly tends to have too many cuts in parts. Like switching between six different angles when two people talk. That happens sometimes.

A few of them I'd seen before it came on the site. Friday the 13th, Astro Zombies (dear god), Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Troll 2. I tried to watch Death Bed all the way through but I never have. XD

| Well, I haven't really bought a reviewed movie so far. But let's say this: "Necromantic" (a movie I will fully understand compared to the Snob ) and "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" are on my wishlist and I know where to buy them uncut. Also "Cannibal Ferox" and "Heartbeeps" are movies I'd purchase. And thanks to my partner we were able to watch "Alice in Wonderland (X-Rated Musical)" and "Beaver & Butt-Face". Yeah, this were INTERESTING experiences. However, I couldn't make him watch something like "Gayracula" with me. Damn! I finished the original "Dracula" book a while ago and wanna know how faithful "Gayracula" is to the book (Â Â ). Other movies? No, so far I never really had the urge to buy "Nukie" or the Mexican "Little Red Riding Hood" or "The Gestapo's last Orgy"...it's more like "I wanna watch some of these in full length but really keeping them in my DVD collection? I don't really know...". | |

| So far, the only films I've actually seen because of the Snob are Caligula and Snuff. The backlog is pretty long, and includes Exit the Dragon, Enter the Tiger at the top of the list. Other stuff on the same bucket list includes:
Thunder of the Gigantic Serpent Both Video Violence movies Horrifying Experiments of the SS Last Days (and most of the other Nazisploitation stuff) Alucarda Porno Holocaust Both of the Pussy Talk movies
Also, in a dollar store recently, I noticed a copy of JCVD, which Brad has praised outside of the Snob persona, but I didn't buy it because it was a Blue Ray and I don't have a Blue Ray player.
On the other hand, I'm going to give The Bat Pussy a wide, wide berth. And this is coming from someone who doesn't even mind Salo.

| Bought HEARTBEEPS from the video store for only $5, and just finished watching it. It's actually not bad. Not much for story, but the characters are likeable, the make-up effects are amazing, and some funny one-liners.
"I'm staying at this gorgeous hotel. I tell the front desk clerk I got a leak in the sink. So the clerk says 'go ahead, the custumer's always right.'"
Plus cameos by Paul Bartel and Mary Woronov, who will eventually cameo in CHOPPING MALL.

Really? I have to side with Brad on this one, paraphrasing his response to Roger Ebert's similar remarks: apparently you don't watch a lot of bad movies if you think 'I Spit on Your Grave' is the worst of anything. It's not a five-star classic or anything, but as far as exploitation goes it's still well directed and actually quite effectively suspenseful. I do agree with Brad that the castration scene should have been the final kill of the movie instead of the boat scene.
