Same here. He reviewed Las Vegas Bloodbath, I was like "Holy hell I think I own that", dug through a 6 movie collection and there it was. Wanted to see how bad it really was.

It's bad. Quite boring. But I'm glad I saw it just because Cinema Snob did.  Smile

I inherited most of my grandfather's VHS collection which came with copies of Hitler Dead or Alive and I Spit on your Grave. I made the poor choice of watching Black Devil Doll from Hell after watching his review. Worst fucking movie, and I sat thru Nukie, and Black Devil Doll was so much worse.

As soon as my next paycheck comes in, I plan on buying a copy of Mommie Dearest. Plus I still have copies of Texas Chainsaw Massacre as well as Zombie vs Ninja, Ninja Untouchables, and Thunder of Gigantic Serpent on my pc.

It gets even worse because Chester Novell Turner is currently working on it's sequel "Black Devil Doll 1.5".

I did see the John Belushi bio Wired recently because Brad reviewed it. Yeah that wasn't a good experience but at least Chiklis is good as Belushi as was mentioned.

see i like Wired, is it a favorite? hell no. i enjoy it for what it is. and i never believed it was truthful at all.
as for I spit on your grave. i do agree that the leader should have been the last to die not the 2nd kill.

i didn't say it was the worst film i've ever seen in my life, i just said it was one of the worst. Mommie Dearest is a favorite film of mine actually. i've loved it since i was a kid and in fact it was the 1st film that i saw that i had heard of Joan Crawford. that film and when my brother rented Baby Jane when he was in high school, i forget why but that film as well made me at some point search out her films actually.

there are some films he's reviewed that i do like. and than there's others that i'll never watch. there are also some that i'll prolly at some point watch just for curiosity. i own return to sleepaway camp on dvd. and it's for collectors sake. that's all. it's also one of the worst films i ever saw in my life. and i was thrilled when he finally snobbed it.

but than who wasn't?

As mentioned in other threads, I love 'Black Devil Doll from Hell'. It's a much easier sit than something like 'Death Nurse'. I honestly had a harder time sitting through the 2008 remake 'Black Devil Doll'; if there's anything worse than a bad movie, it's a self-aware bad movie (which is partly why I dread a sequel to the original 'BDDfH' if it turns out to be anything like 'Birdemic 2', 'Hobgoblins 2', etc.).

honestly i forgot they even made a sequel to hobgoblins. and even that is isn't a good movie either. it's a meh film to be honest. but if a film that didn't need a sequel is well the ones you brought up.

'Hobgoblins' is fun, but it's intentionally campy and nonsensical (as are all of Rick Sloane's films); it just doesn't make any sense to make a sequel that's trying even harder to be intentionally bad.

Nothing irks me quite like forced camp, because it never, ever succeeds. Even parodies like, for example, "The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra" just fall flat compared to the purely genuine tone of actual '50s B-movies. You can't intentionally manufacture a cult film, only time and fate can decide that.

i agree, hobgoblins is a film i can easily ignore cause i don't hate it but it's not very good at all & that's me being nice. i prefer Munchies actually i love that film. the (1987) version actually. and i was watching an old episode of the snob recently & he made a good point we get gremlins which is a dark ass fucking film than at some point i think after critters maybe? they got more family friendly for some strange reason. i've never understood that to be honest.

Rick Sloane also made all six 'Vice Academy' movies, a series which I adore and is very much in the same vein as 'Hobgoblins' if you swapped the puppets for bimbos. If you ever watched 'Police Academy' and thought it was too sophisticated and dignified for your tastes, I suggest checking out 'Vice Academy'. Razz

Speaking of which, if he's itching for a new series or special, I'd like to see Brad do a 'USA Up All Night' retrospective.

I often go to watch movies based on Midnight Screenings. Snob reviews are also good for giving ideas though I can't ever think of a time I actually bought a movie based on a Snob review.

I just recently bought Shock Treatment based on Brad's latest review. Partly because he made it sound good, second because it's a sequel to Rocky Horror that I had no clue even existed.

Yeah, I didn't know about SHOCK TREATMENT either. I think I need to watch that one.
I can't really think of any other Snob episodes that led me to buy/watch the movie, I'd either seen it already (most of the horror/WTF Hollywood episodes) or it didn't spark my interest (the porn episodes). I do often use the Midnight Screenings reviews as a guide, if I'm on the fence about whether to see a new release.

I'd rather recommend Carl Crew's later work "The Secret Life of Jeffrey Dahmer".

I somehow missed this post. Funny story, Carl Crew now owns an awesome little nightclub/sideshow museum in North Hollywood called The California Institute of Abnormalarts that I've been to many times to both watch and perform with weird bands. I've spoken with him many times and once bought a VHS copy of 'Gross Out' from him after having discovered it through the Snob. I watched it and...well, my feelings aren't too far off from Brad's. I know once in a blue moon the CIA will have a midnight screening of 'Gross Out', but I often opt not to attend.

Speaking of which, I would still love to see Brad do 'Blood Diner'. I love that movie so much.

i posted a little a little about this on the shock treatment page, my brother has loved Rocky Horror since (1988) he's 40 now. i don't even remember how he became a fan. and this was before it hit video in (1990) when i 1st saw it. anyways so Rocky Horror has been in my life for pretty much my whole life more or less. and i 1st heard of Shock Treatment in the early 90's. i don't remember when though. and though rocky horror isn't a favorite of mine. it's a film you watch every once in a blue moon. i never got and i still don't get why people love it like they do.

but with Shock Treatment it's in my opinion a better film. there is no doubt people will disagree with me on here. but i like the film better and the music as well. in fact i have the soundtrack on my ipod. so shock treatment has been in my life for over 20 years as well. hell my brother has it on Beta! he's got it on 16mm as well or it could be 35mmm i forget which. in i think (1996) when my brother was in College they had a showing down there at Kent State somewhere a Theatre Showing of Shock treatment. and i went so i've seen it a couple times i believe in the theatre. i could go on but i won't. that's my history with the film.

I watched Caligula given there are so many videos on Brad's site that extol it so.

I’ve seen most of the movies LONG before I had even heard of Brad’s body of work, so I had my own perceptions of the movies going into his reviews. There are some that catch me off guard and get my curiosity up but find it’s not something I would pay for, and pirating some of these rather obscure titles seems impossible. Example of which is ‘Samurai Sluts from Hell’. Think probably my favorite of Brad’s old reviews that I had already seen before discovering his videos is ‘Blood Sucking Freaks’ which is still a favorite among my circle of friends to pop in an riff openly.

Caligula is a film i've never seen actually. i believe they did a re-cut of it where it put all the film in the way it was suppose to be and that version i'd like to see. as for Blood Sucking Freaks yes i had heard of the film growing up.

i had never saw it or have i ever honestly wanted to see it. now that he's done Shock Treatment and some of the Friday the 13th films i can say that i own some of them that he's snobbed. it wasn't always that way. as for At Long Last Love' that's a film that i've been curious to see for years to be honest.

i still haven't seen it to be honest. but i still plan to at some point.

i watched Sleepaway Camp 1 after rewatching Brad's review for the xth time because i was bored. I just so happened to find it in the related section on Youtube and decided to give it a shot and it was good. Not a masterpiece but good for what it is.

I did watch that Jim Jones(oh wait sorry Jim Johnson) movie after watching Brad's review of it recently. Yeah not that good of a film though maybe I'll watch that Powers Boothe mini series since I heard good things about that.

My opinion is the opposite of Brad's on that series: I think the first one is pretty overrated, but I greatly enjoy the second and third ones with Pamela Springsteen. The ones afterwards...well, I don't think anybody will come to their defense... :/

Checked out DEBBIE DOES DALLAS a while back, which is pretty underwhelming for such a famous porno. Maybe I'm too used to amateur internet stuff. Bambi Woods is the hottest one, despite her horrendous acting. Cut out the porn you'd probably have a low rent '70s sex comedy.

The funniest thing about that is... my introduction to Sleepaway Camp was Return to Sleepaway Camp... Jaded my view of those films for a long time until I saw the first.

Well, lately, I was watching "Down and Dirty Duck". I actually enjoyed it.

And now I have the DVD "Nekromantik" at home which I recently ordered from an Austrian DVD shop that sells this stuff. I'm kinda looking forward to this experience.
