All about Spoony

I like Spoony, I find that his "douchebagginess", as some people have put, to be a good thing. Maybe it's just me, seeing as a lot of my friends are like "Spoony" in aspect of personality; in fact I am that way a little. (Of course I don't know how he is off camera, away from fans and so forth).

But seriously, I do like Spoony, and I think he's a tremendously funny individual with great screen presence. His videos have pretty good production values for a webshow (better than AVGN, but not quite to AT4W caliber), and I like he's introducing story elements into his show, though he should really only do AT4W crossovers when he really has a good reason for it. The Star Trek ending to "Final Fantasy X" was a bit silly in my opinion. I realize both shows take place in the same universe (the Awesomeverse, I've heard it called), but he really needs to be building his own canon before bringing in Linkara, who has a tendency towards deus ex machina, and the ending of the Black Lantern Spoony fight really shows that.

But yeah, Spoony's a funny guy, though kind of an asshole from what I've heard, but I haven't witnessed it so I can't give a definite yes or no.

Honestly, I really enjoyed his early reviews, but not so much anymore. His "reviews" have become nothing more than just a barrage of silly jokes, silly characters and a lot of him nit-picking and bitching about silly things. Furthermore the way he portrays himself on the Internet to put it in his words "annoys me". I kinda like his Ultima retrospectives though, so I am hoping he gets to doing more soon.

Spoony needs to quit drinking all that fucking soda and drink some water once in a while.

P.S. I like Spoony. He puts out more content than most independent internet producers, besides Brad, and 96 percent of it is good (I calculated it). And why Why can't he dis his "fans" once in awhile? They troll him in the comments. He can troll back.

And apparently the Awesomeverse and the Reviewaverse that Apollo Z Hack is doing are same since Obscurus Lupa makes an appearance in the Reviewaverse Saga.

Just saying.

He puts out more content? I swear he's been lacking the last few months. I seem to recall going to his site and there was nothing new at all posted for about a month.

That may be due to his illness, cause for awhile there he had to take it easy.

I see. I didn't really know he was sick or anything. I know he occasionally does a video and mentions a cold or something.

If you count vlogs he puts out a lot of content, if you don't he has definitely slowed down.

He had a pretty bad heart condition, he got new medicine though and has been feeling much better.

I watched the 'stand-up' stuff he did at Magfest, he mentioned something about not being able to have caffeine anymore. I'm assuming that's related to what you're talking about?

Yeah he had a genetic heart condition problem all his life and started drinking a lot of pop which was making him sick all of the time. He is off caffeine and has new medication.

I think he can't do anything that make the heart work faster (or something). He can't really exercise or do heavy lifting or drink coffee or have sex (I guess).

So how exactly does he manage to do those epic freak outs in his reviews?

Haha, yeah... he may have to quick his reviewing. He gets very uppity in his videos. He'll have to either chill out or stop if he's got a serious problem there.

"Today we'll be reviewing the Highlander remake. It was... uh... not very good I guess. I dunno, whatever. *nods off*"

But Linkara and Spoony's videos aren't part of the Reviewaverse, according to Linkara in I THINK the MMPR commentary. (well, he says that the AT4W canon isn't part of it, which means Spoony's apart of it)

How can Spoony's canon be part of Linkara's canon without Linkara's canon being involved with Appolo's canon while Spoony's canon is.

This is why reviewers shouldn't have plots.

I think this is one of the times where Word of God is wrong; if Spoony's is (which I didn't know when writing my above post), then Linkara's is too. Linkara may not have known that when he made the statement (this was a while ago when the Reviewerverse was VERY young, so Spoony may not have joined into it yet).

Also, I still call it the Awesomeverse, or the Linkaraverse, because he's pretty much the single most important character in it, being "this world's champion" and all.

All I can say is that Internet video reviews with stories are as bad as porn with stories. ESpecially if circle jerky LOL CAMEOING is included.

I get that impression a lot. Spoony seems to get something out every 2 weeks. Does he have a job or something? Because Brad can pump reviews out like crazy, and yet Spoony is always saying that he is busy.
