Have you ever seen a movie that will bring you to tears everytime you watch it? Here's mine.
Grave of the Fireflies

Im sure people will laugh at my choice. That is the first garfield cartoon: "Here Comes Garfield":
It because of this (spoiler):
Spoiler:
It's when Garfield has to confront the fact that Odie might be put to death, when they are in the dog-impound. Kinda got me to see Garfield and Odie as brothers, and made me think of that i only have one brother, and i would not want to see him go away.

When they disassemble Johnny 5 in Short Circuit 2. I remember watching that film when I was seven or something... it was just horrific. Seriously, I reckon it was one of the most powerful moments I've ever seen on film - a talking mad robot going "No disassemble, nooo!"
Stop laughing. Really. It's truly sad.
Damn that film is depressing.

End of Evangelion. It's so sad that Shinji Ikari didn't die. Why do that to all his many detractors?
On a more serious note, I suppose I would say Sweet and Lowdown. It's not utterly sad like Fireflies, but it really captures just how miserable that guy's life is in many ways, especially at the end.

Well, nobody died during the Komm Susser Tod scene, only their body died when it was turned into that chalky beverage that we love to hate, Tang. Their mind and soul went into the egg of Lilith, and the human race went through instrumentality until Shinji who had become god decided that living as individuals was better, and now humanity has license to leave instrumentality and return to individualism...and that is how the founders came to be.

See, that just makes me more depressed, because it means Shinji actually became a god, instead of just a miserable Adam wannabe strangling that chick he was either lustful over or irritated by the entire damn show. I rescind my previous statement, End of Evangelion is the saddest movie of all time. Shinji wasn't even as crazy as Kamille Bidan at the end...and that fellow actually got to kill his bastard father.
So, now I'm going to watch another coda film that's infinitely happier: Adolescence of Utena.

Oh wow. I'm glad I'm not the only one who had that reaction. I was also about seven when I saw it the first time.
I always - ALWAYS - cry when I watch THE IRON GIANT.
LAST OF THE MOHICANS (1992), REPULSION, DEAD RINGERS, MELANCHOLIA, and HUNGER (the Maze Prison movie, not the f'd up survival/horror movie). But I think the single most depressing thing I've ever watched was the "Jurassic Bark" episode of FUTURAMA.

The video on this blog is the anime version of "Grave of the Fireflies". But it keeps getting removed off of YouTube due to copyright issues. Also another really sad movie on my list is the ending to "Edward Scissorhands".

Probably the early 80's Sanrio classic, Ringing Bell. Or High School Big Shot.

The ending to KING KONG LIVES. It didn't bother me as a kid, but when I bought the DVD as an adult and saw it again after so many years the film's ending brought me to tears. Surprising because this is often considered a horrible film, but I like it.

Sequel to the 1976 remake. Another underrated jem.

Yeah i saw the 1970s one back in high school and i remeber not liking it but that was years ago.The oringal is an aboslute classic and i remeber enjoying the 2005 one. i think i might have seen king kong vs godzilla but if i did it was super long ago.

Bröderna Lejonhjärta
Children's film. First, the older brother dies while rescuing his younger brother from a fire. Then the younger brother dies from tuberculosis. Then they have awesome adventure in a fantasy land. And then, the younger brother cuts his older brother's throat and jumps over a cliff, so they can be reunited in a new fantasy land. It made sense in context (sort of).
