| Anyone read these? I don'thave any of the EC comics stuff. I did find a copy of TALES OF TERROR from an antique store, from Eqlipse Comics. I've downloaded a lot off the net. Some no longer sold because of the backlash from decades ago. I've read most of the MYSTERIES! WEIRD AND STRANGE comics. A bunch of Canadian horror comics I found from Superior Publishers. Issue 10 has a couple decent, yet forgettable stories, one a demon infested swamp, and the other of a murdered woman's ghost. But two others stand out. The best of this issue I think is THE HAUNTED HAND. A writer buys a killer's hand from an auction, and it of course comes to life. The final story, PLANET WITHOUT DEATH, is strange. A man dying of some unknown disease travels to Cholors, a green planet where no one can die. Basically a lover's triangle between the man, his human wife, and a green lettuce lady he brings back. Feels rushed at times. Issue 7's THE SEA GOBLINS is the only one I read so far that is for sure set in Canada. Takes place in British Columbia, and there's some Mounties. Sea Goblins come ashore to find female mates. http://archive.org/browse.php?field=subject&mediatype=texts&collection=webcomicuniverse | |

| I love old school EC comics. My roomate has several old issues of tales from the crypt. i own every season of the tv show. i still need to see the movies that are from the show but i have seen the 70s film and the valut of horror film. Spawn is one of my favorite comic book heros ever its sad that his live action film sucked. I loved the HBO show though | |

| the 1st Tales from the crypt film from the 70's is a great film. the 2nd one though sucked ass.
as for the 90's films Demon Knight is a bad ass film. you'll love it. but Bordello of Blood is a piece of shit.
i haven't seen the 3rd Crypt film they made a couple years back i believe. and i doubt you'll remember it but they had the Tales from the crypt cartoon for i think ABC? in the 90's. that was cheesy as hell but i enjoyed it. it was on only for i think 1 or 2 seasons. it is what it is. it's i think called 'Tales from the crypt keeper.
check them out on you tube.

| i do recall one episode and oddly it gave me nightmares and before you laugh let me just add that this was the plot it's about i believe 2 kids who use a magnafy glass & sorry about my shitty spelling. anyways they kill bugs with it on a summer day. anyways something happens i forget what and they end up being shrunk and they are than the bugs and
the reason it gave me nightmares was cause i was thinking about that episode the entire day for some reason or other. and i kept thinking on how what if that had been me? and i guess it just blended into my dreams or something.
and no cartoons don't normally do that to me. though the one in "The Twilight Zone' movie did for years as a kid do the same. he he

| I really like the TALES and VAULT movies. I'd actually go as far to say I like them more than the entire HBO series and their movie spinoffs. DEMON KNIGHT and BORDELLO OF BLOOD are decent. I like TALES FROM THE CRYPT PRESENTS: RITUAL most I think. It's actually a remake of the film "I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE" and is not based on anything EC Comics related.
I like the CRYPT-KEEPER cartoon as well. Got the first two seasons on DVD.
Hope to someday get a EC Archive collection of the comics. I don't buy things offline anymore, and stores never seem to carry them.

| oh i love the HBO show. they have some damn good episodes such as the one with Christopher Reeve. or hell even Jon Lovtiz. that's a great one. he's actually pretty good in it. Michael J. Fox. Larry Drake remake of the story about Santa Claus is great. in fact i prefer it over the original. something i don't normally say.
a LOT of that has to do with the fact is i saw that many times before the 70's films. and also because i've always loved "Larry Drake' like Dr. Giggles i think is a great film. and i'm really surprised no sequel came from it to be honest.

| Hey! That first one right there! It's a John Sinclair comic??! I used to read novels featuring that character when I was a kid! I didn't know there were comics too! The books were great, he's a Scotland Yard Inspector who specializes in paranormal phenomenons: he fights monsters and demons all over the world with various tools like an egyptian cross, a whip, silver bullets etc. Niiice. I'll try to find some of those comics. | |
