Yeah but we can has fun can we not? Also, my theatre just played the American remake of The Vanishing. I don't know why. I guess to its credit, it has some OK moments but the ending is the big fucking snub of course.

| Went to see the Adjustment Bureau with my mom. She put it best: "It's like the exact mid-point between The Terminator and Sleepless in Seattle" | |

| RubberA story about a tire who figures out he has telekenetic powers. And then goes on a killing spree and stalks a chick. Yeah.... In all, I think it would have been better if it was a 30 min movie and not 90 like it is now. It drags a little in the middle but the wierdness sort of makes up for it. Great homage to The Warriors-intro credits scene towards the end tho 6/10 | |

6/10 I actually set my targets on that. I thought the poster was hilarious: http://www.impawards.com/intl/france/2010/posters/rubber_ver4.jpg We got a copy of that poster because I guess our theatre is gunna be showing it sometime soon. I just watched Gothic.Goddamit. This is the 2nd time I've seen the movie, and I still can't formulate an opinion. Every thing I like about it has a negative and vice verse. So here's the closest I can come. +Decent cinematography -Terrible direction otherwise +Absolutely fantastic idea; especially from the standpoint of someone who loves Frankenstein and would have loved to known Mrs. Shelley and learn about her inspiration. -Farts about too much and barely touches upon one of the most important aspects of Shelley's reasoning until the last 30 minutes. +Lots of weird imagery that can be pretty creepy or cool. -Lots of weird imagery that drags on and despite being creepy or cool, has fuck all to do with anything and consumes too much time. +Fairly decent cast, and Timothy Spalding always plays a good weirdo. -Well, at least until the last 30 minutes - when somehow bizarro mode kicks in, and the cast overacts the rest of the film.

| 127 Hours-Pretty good film. I wasn't as blown away as some people were, but found it effective and emotional. 7/10
Tomorrow When The War Began-Australian take on Red Dawn. Let me just say it does for war movies what Twilight did for vampire films. So far this film hasn't found a US release (probably because of the Red Dawn remake about to come out here), but I doubt it will make much of a splash here as it is pretty devoid of anything remotely interesting. For crying out loud, the soldiers don't even patrol the streets of the city they have captured. 4/10

Obviously, but it still had interest to me - and there were some things that weren't completely embellished based on prior knowledge.

| I just finished Face/Off. It was really good, but it would have been a whole lot better if Nic Cage had gotten more time as the Troy character, the first 20 minutes or so was some of the most entertaining Nic Cage I ever saw.
I also watched Over the Top, but it left such little impact it barely registered that I had just watched a feature motion picture. There's really nothing to say about it.

The one thing that always bugged me about Face/Off was the ending. The main charatcer should have to have kept the Nic Cage face. It would have been more profound that way. The other was destroyed anyway and here were no doctors alive to change him back. So it didn't even make any sense.

It's the classic concept of chasing someone until you actually become them. I have this deep suspicion that John Woo was aiming for that as he is classically trained and the studios made him change it.

| I just watched Cube Zero. Not really sure why since I pretty much knew it was probably gunna be bad (Plus I feel that making a Prequel to Cube is silly since part of what I like about Cube was the idea of coming up with your own ideas on what the Cube is/was) guess I was bored. Yeah, it was bad - though I actually liked it more than HyperCube, if not for the lone fact that Cube Zero's "religious" allusions were so laughably retarded and moronic that it was actually worth smiling over at times; especially when it came to their idea of "The Man Upstairs." Mr. Jax was awesome. | |

| Robert Altman's The Player. I liked it a lot, but I couldn't hear a lot of the dialogue in some places. The way they talk in that movie seemed pretty mumbly, but maybe it's just me.
Also, I'm two for three when it comes to liking films by prestigious directors Brad hates. I liked Milk (Gus Van Sant) and this. I haven't seen a Terrence Mallick film, though. Are there any other directors like them that I'm forgetting?

I just didn't really see it happening from a story point of view, but I see where you're coming from. It was really just something minor while the fact that he got to switch back to the John Travolta face was a lot bigger. Also, back on topic, Deadfall. HI-FUCKING-YA!

| I just watched Rare Exports. I liked it, considering the silly premise it was fairly well made - but if I had one disappointment, it was that we never got to see the demon Santa unmelted and so the buildup and twist in that regard was kind of a damp squib. Still fairly cool flick though, actually. | |

Agreed 110% I dont get why they didnt show us the real santa?! Why even tease the audience with him in the first place if your not even going to use him in the movie! It looked so cool and then just nothing.. I mean what happened? Did their balls drop off?

It looked so cool and then just nothing.. I mean what happened? Did their balls drop off? *shrug* Maybe they just wanted to get to the stuff from the original short films quicker. I loved the Official Safety Instructions video, "Don't drink and curse around a father christmas unless you really want to upset him, which will result in one inevitability: Death." lol. I really feel that they should have at least shown him in the explosion or something, I would have settled for just a couple minutes of it being revealed actually, but it was a letdown to just build up and then do nothing with it. Like I said, shame because the rest of the film was pretty cool and it did a decent job expanding the idea from the short films; though I actually do wish they had shown more of the Rare Exports, Inc. based footage so that people who didn't see the short films could enjoy them without having to do research.

| Bingo Bongo. The first Adriano Celentano film I watched. It started out stupid and then got lame. I thought about shutting it off prematurely, but then the ending got totally awesome. Tarzan pulled a Doctor Doolittle. The ending was awesome and also the music was good, in Italian cinema I have always enjoyed the music. | |
