If you need to use A Serbian Film as research for a role in a film, I'm not sure that you would want to do that role. At least I wouldn't want to.

| Honestly I have no interest in seeing it. I think that if Brad; someone who could handle movies that I couldn't like I Spit on your Grave or The Girl Next Door; draws the line here it must be a doozy. Rape and any other form of sexual violence/torture is something that is too sensitive for me, and also being a feminist - the trailers and info I've read on this film sound like a bit much for me... | |

| I've yet to find the movie that pushed me farther than I was comfortable to go, so I'm looking forward to finally seeing this. | |

The American theatrical release has roughly 5 minutes cut just to receive an NC-17 The 'uncut' version being advertised for the online version still has about a minute cut out Word has it the Blu-Ray, but not the DVD, will be fully uncut

| It honestly sounds boring. An hour+ of a guy in scary porn from Serbia? I could get that on Google in a heartbeat. | |

You can pretty much get anything from Google nowadays if you look around enough.

Word has it the Blu-Ray, but not the DVD, will be fully uncut I should hope so. Buying a cut version of A Serbian Film would be kind of like watching the "R" rated version of Caligula.

| I got the German Blu-ray of the film and they cut 14 minutes of sex and violence from the film. The movie clocks in at 90 minutes and two seconds. The ending of the film is HACKED to pieces. To those who have seen it, you know what happens in the final act. This is what happens in the German edit: - Spoiler:
Milos is taken to the set and hops on the body and starts fucking. Then we cut to Milos brother magically popping up, not wearing a mask. The Nurse walks in and obviously has causes harm to herself from Milos injecting the Spanish Fly in her. Nurse drops dead and Milos jumps Vukmir. He starts to smash his head into the ground and then his bodyguards to panic. SCREEN CUTS TO RED.
That's it. It's like a minute long whereas in the screener copy it goes on and on and we do not come to a shocking discovery that - Spoiler:
Milos fucked his son
. And obviously the "NEWBORN!!!" scene is cut. In the German edit: - Spoiler:
Vukmir plays the film and as soon as the doctor takes his robe off and walks over to the woman, it cuts to Milos in the car.
Also in the German edit, another major edit is: - Spoiler:
When Milos is forced to get a BJ and discovers "Alice" watching. This is cut completely. The woman is blowing Milos and then the director walks in and you see Vukmir's bodyguard with his arm wrapped around Milos for no apparent reason and then Milos punches the guard.
And a final major edit is: - Spoiler:
Once Milos is injected with the Spanish Fly and the woman is chained to the bed. We do not see any of the sex and the decapitation with the Machete. It is completely removed. Vukmir and the Nurse let Milos at the girl and the scene cuts.
That's the major edits from the German release. The Blu-ray is Region All with Serbian and German (Dub) in DTS-HD MA 5.1 and German subs.

| Out of curiosity I saved "A Serbian Film" to my Netflix queue while it was still out in theaters. However, Netflix removed it from the search engine, without any warning what so ever. Somebody working for Netflix probably watched a few minutes of it and said "Yeah, we're not gonna bother releasing that". CENSORSHIP! | |

The Uncut version is banned in Germany. I have the censored German edit on Blu-ray.

| The American Blu-ray release I have of "A Serbian Film" has an edited version the "Newborn Porn" scene. It also contains a digital copy of it to download on your computer. Just be sure not to bring it with you into the several countries where it's banned (Spain, Norway, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia & Singapore). | |
