While I have a decent listening palette (don't we all think we do), I enjoy listening to movie scores.

What are some of your favorites?

I'm a big fan of the following composers:

John Scott-Man On Fire, Anthony And Cleopatra, Greystoke, etc...

Frederic Talgorn-Heavy Metal 2000, Robotjox, Delta Force 2 (only the orchestral parts), Le Brasier, etc...

Basil Poledouris-Conan The Barbarian, Robocop, Cherry 2000, The Blue Lagoon, Quigley Down Under, etc...

Elmer Bernstein-The Great Escape, Spacehunter, Ghostbusters, Magnificent Seven, Hawaii, Heavy Metal (the original), Stripes, etc...

My favorite movie score has always been the one to John Carpenter's "The Thing".

Those are a couple of good ones. I really dig Ennio Morricone's score for The Thing as well. John C's scores for his other films are pretty cool as well.

In my opinion, John Williams make the best scores including many from Spielberg! Name any movie and he has done it!

His many Oscar nominations speak volumes about that.

Riz Ortolani- Mondo Cane, Addio Zio Tom, Cannibal Holocaust

Bernard Herrmann- Just about anything, but I'm partial to Psycho and Taxi Driver myself.

Howard Shore- Videodrome, Ed Wood, Naked Lunch

Walter Rizzati- House by the Cemetery

my favorite composer? oh that's an easy one. 'Danny Elfman' he's been my favorite since "Edward Scissorhands' came out in (1990) his music i dunno has a dark tone to it no matter what he does. yes he does lighter stuff,

but you can tell that it's got a touch of Tim Burton influence. and that's NOT a bad thing. and yes some of his stuff is better than other things he's done. but than NOT all composers have good scores for EVERY film they do ya know?
