| I don't know the cutoff date for this show, but please (Brad if you're reading this) think of this as a special request.
I remember when the first Shrek film came out on VHS, it looked unusually big for a regular looking VHS with an unused space that you can probably fit some pens and pencils in. I heard the reason for that was that since this film spoofs the Disney animated films, Disney didn't want DreamWorks to put it in a white clamshell which is a shame since other DW animated titles like The Prince of Egypt and Chicken Run recieved the clamshell treatment. I used to own it, but I since owned all the Shrek films on DVD along with Shrek Forever After on Blu-Ray.
Who else remember this unusual VHS, and would it make a great Big Box episode?

| I have that box, it's huge. I wouldn't expect him to do it, but then again I didn't expect him to do A Christmas Story. | |

| Shrek came out at the end of the VHS cycle so I don't think he'll do it. The show's more centered around when VHS was first booming. | |

That's true, but take into consideration that Brad did House of the Devil. There's even a VHS Big Box for Paranormal Activity, but it's only been released in like the Netherlands or somewhere close to it in Europe.

I think House of the Devil was reviewed only for the novelty of a big box being released about 7 or 8 years after VHS was already dead.

Well, if they do become retro, they should try to do the Digital VHS tapes that are 1080i. Those didn't make it mainstream. You can find some on eBay.

Scratch em up, but just enough so that the picture is still viewable.

It's an interesting idea, but, like Tommy said, people like VHS tapes for their VHS look, if that makes any sense. If they want something that looks like a DVD, they'll buy a DVD.

It came back because it allows for a warmer tone and greater depth of sound.

That might be a contributing factor, sure, but the primary drive is the superior audio. Analog just has those little bonuses that digital has yet to match.

I wouldn't want to listen to the Tron Legacy Soundtrack on vinyl, just like I wouldn't watch Speed Racer on VHS. Whereas, I'll gladly take Are You Experienced as a record, and I'll watch Halloween on tape.

I meant probably something along those lines, something which would benefit from sounding clean.
