Legendary special-effects artist Rick Baker has just renounced his retirement and is auctioning off his works.
He mostly blames the use of CGI that pretty much destroyed his industry.
It looks like hand-made practical effects are becoming a dying art.

1stly he had announced that like 5 or 6 years ago. i had no idea he was even still making movies. and he's right of course CGI does seem to be doing just that.
