VHS I Bought Broke My VCR Empty

A few months back, I went to a thrift store & bought an old VHS box set of "The Deer Hunter".
When I played it in my VCR, it completely destroyed the inside of it.
I had to buy another VCR.

That sucks dude. I don't know how it is in Jersey, but here in Chicago you can find a new VHS in almost any thrift store for pretty cheep. Hope you have better luck with second hand stuff than that in the future.

You misread the title. It was the Korean version called the "Dear Hunter". They're out to destroy our VCRs.

I had a DVD destroy a portable DVD player once...I don't even know if it had anything to do with the actual DVD, it just suddenly stopped working for no discernible reason after I played it only once.

I should preface that I'm a huge fan of 'The Blair Witch Project' and more so the intense cultural phenomenon it spawned, not the least of which was a good dozen or so feature-length parody movies. I made it a masochistic mission to see these parody movies out of morbid curiosity, which is the only reason why I'd ever rent Pauly Shore's 'The Bogus Witch Project' (the film what killed my DVD player, and I really don't blame it).

Have you seen the Tony Blair Witch project by any chance? Very Happy
I haven't personally, that title just caught my attention on imdb...

I actually have not seen it in full, but I've seen plenty of clips. Only a good handful of the parodies were actually released and distributed in such a way that I could find them, but a lot of them are just home movies which somehow got listed on IMDb. They're...they're all just awful, but still nevertheless fascinating. I know it was easy to film a 'Blair Witch' spoof since anybody could do it with literally no budget, but the sheer number of them is amazing. It had at least SEVEN PORN PARODIES alone, all but one of which was from '99-'01. I mean...wow.

I once bought a videotape from a flea market that had actually broken - and I mean the actual tape inside had snapped - and the previous owner had fixed it with fucking masking tape.

It still didn't break our VCR.
