Red Hot Chili Peppers at Super Bowl

The Red Hot Chili Peppers will be performing during the halftime show at Super Bowl XLVIII.
Finally, we get to enjoy watching a retro rock group & not some pop artist.

That's.....random. Not that I don't like RCHP, but the last few years it seems like they've been deliberately seeking artists that appeal to the opposite target audience for The Superbowl. (Exceptions being Tom Petty and Springsteen -- and Prince, who kind of defies the concept of target audiences.) And I guess it hasn't really worked all that well, so this is probably a good thing.

Serious Question: Has AC/DC ever played the Halftime Show? Because that seems like a natural fit.

Good to see that the Red Hot Chilli Peppers have finally totally sold out. Expect them perform one, two or more of their blandest songs about California from the recent years. Don't expect anything remotely close to Blood Sugar Sex Magic.

Since the Janet Jackson incident, the Super Bowl people have gone out of their way to find the blandest of the "edgy" or use to be edgy musicians. This isn't an observation, this is something they have stated...though not quite that way. Simply put, they don't want another Janet Jackson incident...ever.
