Episode 67. The Most Cringe Inducing Episode.

Holy shit. I just got done listening to this bullshit. The point where I said "Fuck this" was when NOT MIKE WHITE talks about how "cult" films are being "manufactured" and then there's this snobbery on Sci-Fi and Asylum films having no "soul". Let me ask you something, DO YOU HONESTLY EXPECT THOSE TYPES OF FILMS TO BE MIND BLOWING T2 OR ALIENS TYPE SHIT FROM JAMES CAMERON? Fuck no. Seriously, that whole approach to it was wrong, seriously does one expect any of The Asylum films to be great epic pieces of art? Then with the whole thing on Sundown with Bruce Campbell and David Carradine and how he made it seem that VHS was a horrible format by paraphrasing the director on the film being horribly cropped and so on. Um, wasn't that problem with most of the films on VHS in the first place? But also isn't that why Brad, the original creator of this program, got his love for films? By watching old and busted VHS tapes? Huh. Yeah. Huh.

Next time he's on, I'm not listening. Complete bullshit. And for a final note, fuck the term "Cult Classic". If there's a movie you like; like it. If not, let it go to the back of your mind where you'll probably never dwell on it again.

what's even more fascinating is that:

a) I wasn't even in episode 67, nor is it even up on cinemasnob.com

b) In case you misprinted and meant to say episode 57, I wasn't in that one either.

Ok, I apologize. If it wasn't you, it was Fred then. That annoyed the hell out of me. I misheard it as my comp was acting up at the time towards the end.

Also, "fuck the term Cult Classic?" You do know there's a legit definition of that movie, right? It's a movie that didn't necessarily do big box office, but got a second life on video.

I never see that term "Cult Classic" as applying towards any movies I like and if they do, I don't really care. But his snobbery and then going on about The Asylum and Sci-Fi Channel movies for not having any "soul". Would you honestly expect anything out of those types of movies? And going on about Sundown on VHS and it being cropped to full screen; 99.999% of the films that are widescreen were cropped.

I know you're talking about Cult Classics and how they bomb and stuff, but I am not going to look up the box office for every movie I like and own just to see; "Oh, 'Movie A' cost $20 million and only made $5 million. 'Movie B' cost $3 million and made $28 million." I am not being ignorant about it. I am addressing the other issues that bothered me about that episode.

I'm still alive. I've been going through a lot of stuff. Some of my last posts were me talking about the accident I was involved in. I've still had some problems, but, I'm ok. Filmmaking has been taking up a lot of my time though. I'm working on the scripts for Traumatic Possession 3D: Sequel and Traumatic Possession 3D: Apocalypse. We screened Traumatic Possession 3D: The Tape back in January and having a theatrical experience for my first full length feature was fun.
