Satan, big beards, and women with blonde greasy dreads. Yep. Definitely a Rob Zombie movie.
I wonder if he'll do well with this one. But that rising action in the soundtrack was a bit too loud.

Personally, I think "The Devil's Rejects" is still considered to be Zombie's ultimate masterpiece.

Meh, to me, this just seems like every run of the mill "God Vs Satan/Anti-Christ is born" movie that's come out the last 5-6 years.
Knowing it's a Rob Zombie movie, I assume it'll be over the top gory and violent as well...

well for me 'house of 1,000 corpses' is a piece of shit and how that became a hit baffles me. and while i do love 'the devil's rejects' i don't think it's a masterpiece. anyways i had no idea that he had a new film coming out. thanxs for the heads up

I like House of 1000 Corpses probably because it's so derivative. It's like a Halloween trick-or-treat bag featuring the best parts of Suspiria, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween III, and a host of others all melted into one sticky, sugary mass and without the filler. This looks a lot like it, but instead of campy Halloween classics, Zombie's melting together grimy '70s Satanism movies, the Wicker Man, Play Misty for Me, and adding weird baroque flourishes. And I'm OK with that.

Wow! I'm impressed he got the really grand imagery at such a low budget. Zombie does tend to cast his friends a lot, so maybe they're willing to work with him for lower salaries.

At least Rob Zombie had the brains to not overindulge and piss away a ton of money on this movie. I guess he doesn't want to make the same tragic mistake as the makers who threw away $20 million (plus $60 million in marketing costs) on "The Oogieloves".

I'm going to NYC tomorrow to see "Lords of Salem". It's getting a limited release. I wonder if Brad will be able to see it & do a review of it?

I've just came back from NYC where I saw Rob Zombie's newest movie "Lords of Salem". It's being shown in select cities with a limited release. And after seeing it, I can see why. Eventhough it only had a $1.5 million budget & had some great practical effects, the plot was a complete mess. Before I went to see the movie, I thought to myself that this may not be as good as "The Devil's Rejects". I wonder if there are any theaters where Brad lives that's currently showing "Lords of Salem" & do a review of it?

I wasn't sure what was happening with this one. I didn't pay much attention. Zombie's films are okay, but I think he's an overrated film-maker personally. I'm impressed the budget was so low, but can't help to think this was sort of doomed for it. I wonder if Zombie will return for a HALLOWEEN 3, just to step back into the spotlight.

Eventhough the plot made absolutely no sense, it still was a really fun experience being able to see this in Times Square in NYC. It almost felt like seeing a sleazy modern-day exploitation grindhouse film.
