I went to see the new "Judge Dredd" movie today.
Before I left I watched the 1995 Sylvester Stallone version.
The first thing that I would like to say is that the newer version is nothing like the other version.
The Stallone version had it's share of camp (mostly due to Rob Schneider's performance), but this one is very dark and gritty.
A quarter of the whole movie was shot in slow motion from the characters getting high off the drug "Slo-Mo".
The three dimensional effects were good, but there's some kind of grain in the foreground in some scenes.
The violence and gore were all done with computer animation.
The plot is similar to the first "Die Hard" which takes place in a building.
Of course, the comic and movies are clearly rip-offs of Marvel's "Punisher" series.
The older version is still entertaining to watch, but I think that this one is much better.
I'm looking forward to Brad doing a review and seeing what he thinks about it.
If you ever get a chance to see it yourselves, tell me what you think about it as well.
