My Thoughts On Justin's Death Empty
PostSubject: My Thoughts On Justin's Death   My Thoughts On Justin's Death EmptyThu Jan 30, 2014 7:23 am

I would like to share with you all my own personal thoughts about the recent & tragic death of Justin Carmical.
At first, I thought it was just a rumor going around on the Internet.
But then, after I read many postings on Brad, Doug & even James Rolfe's websites, that's when I finally realized that this shit was for real.
Personally. suicide is a very devastating subject to talk about (since a close friend of my own family had also lost his life to suicide).
I would like to send my deepest condolences to Justin's friends, family & the cast of "ThatGuyWithTheGlasses" that he worked with over the past few years.
Rest In Peace, Justin.
You will be missed.

My Thoughts On Justin's Death Empty

I am still in denial over it, like someone had it out for Justin and spread this filthy rumor, and that one day we'll see a facebook update, a new YCPT video and see Justin's smiling face and positive demeanor again. I want it with all my heart to be nothing but a rumor, but reality is sinking in.

I may have not known him as well as Brad has, but he was a great help with my videos in the past and I probably would have given up if not for Justin. None of us will ever forget Justin, and I am sure we are passing along his channel URL for people to check out. The man was the genuine article with the sincerity of a saint. He meant what he said. I will miss him, but in all reality he isn't really gone. Anytime we wish, we can log onto his webpage, and he can make us laugh some more, as if he never left.

My Thoughts On Justin's Death Empty

I never got into Justin's videos (video games and Japanese stuff isn't my area of interest), but I saw him plenty of times in various crossovers, podcasts, etc. and he always won me over with his warm and amicable personality. I remember watching 'Kickassia' when it first came out, not knowing who any of the cast was outside of Brad and Spoony, and Justin really stuck out to me: he had such remarkable and genuine enthusiasm and energy over everyone else that he ended up stealing most of the movie.

I actually saw him at MAGFest this year, sitting behind a table and talking to some fans. He was the first internet personality I spotted at the con...even though I had nothing to say to him, I was still surprisingly excited to see him and that trademark hat.

His death really kind of hit me hard...it's a tragedy that just felt so personal to me despite being someone I'd never even spoken to. People tend to be emotionally distanced from celebrities we're used to seeing play characters or plug their products on talk shows or live extravagant lifestyles, but Justin was a real guy who didn't put on a persona, and his extremely affable demeanor endeared me to him more than it could for any movie star or random guy on the internet talking about video games. It makes me feel like I lost someone I actually knew. It's hard to explain, but it bummed me out for a good while; I can't even begin to imagine what his friends and family feel like. R.I.P.
