i've loved films pretty much all my life. and like a lot of you we each have our favorites and our hatred of certain film makers. and favorite Producers as well but my favorite Producer is Roger Corman. weather it's him as a director or writer, actor, executive producer or just producer. he's done it all pretty much.

for me i grew up watching his films weather it's a classic he did or a shitty one he made. he's a guy who seems to me anyways to be not really part of hollywood cause he seems to give nobody's a chance when you work for him, really unlike hollywood. i don't need to post how many people he's given careers to. but there's a LOT!

and the good thing about him is that when it comes to film he knows his shit. and like i said he's more open to finding new talent than anyone else in hollywood. with Charles Band people who work for him yes some of them have hit it big, but anyone in recent years haven't as far as i know. anyways for "Roger Corman' i dunno what the 1st film i saw of his was. but the one that i can think of is 'The Pit & The Pendulum" the (1961) classic

my brother got the old VHS from his high school they had a sale or something many years ago. i was in like elemetary school at the time he got it so it's that many years ago. he's 39 now so there ya go. i fell in love with that film and it's to this day my favorite film of his.

"Vincent Price" as well. what do you guys and & gals think of him? oh by the way if no one has seen "Rock & Roll High School' you SHOULD go out and rent it or buy it even better that's a classic!

i just got done watchingt "Black Mama, White Mama' and old one from (1973) with "Pam Grier' "Sid Haig' and i fucking loved it! it starts out being a women in prison film but what it really is a remake of "The Defiant ones' that old (1958) classic that had "Tony Curtis' & Sidney Poitner" or however ya spell his last name?

anyways the acting wasn't that great but Sid Haig looked like he was having fun in it. and it was one of his better performances of his stuff he did around this time that i have seen so far. though his outfits are really funny as hell

cowboy hat and a REALLY ugly ass shirt than later he had a cowboy shirt on. one wonders if he brought those himself or if he was given them? he's really damn good in the film. he's after the women cause it's a white chick hand cuffed to well Pam Grier' and one thing did surprise me for a film made back than was that at the start of the film there was the shower scene with the women at the prison and one of women guards was masterbating from looking at the nekid women. this was a Roger Corman quickie that was made pretty cheap you can tell. but it's surprisngly one of the better films i've seen that was made in the phillepeans. Johnnathon Demme co-wrote it so that may be why?

has anyone seen this one?

i dunno how many of his i've actually seen but he's done some damn good ones and some pretty bad ones. like "Big Bad Mama' a (1974) piece of shit that brad may like since "Shatner' is in it.

i thought that was a dreadful film but it was a HUGE hit when it came out. Shatner even has a sex scene in it. though i didn't want to ever see that. i'd rather him be have done that film when he was thin than him being the fat fuck he is now.

that would have given me nightmares. one of my favorites of Cormans that i love and some like it and some hate it is
"Summer Camp Nightmare' and old one from (1987) i grew up watching that and i've seen it so many times i dunno how many times i've seen it. i have it on VHS but no blu-ray yet. it's a favorite of mine where you root for the main character for like the 1st half

than he overpowers and kills the dude from "Tourist Trap' i forget his name at the moment. and he slowly gets power hungry and you than switch to this dude must be fucking stopped. he does get stopped at the end though. and

it's i think pretty well acted. the dude who played the guy i'm referring to was great in the role. he also was the star of "Muchies' that also came out that year and that's another Corman favorite of mine. the orignal Munchies not the later ones that came out in the 90's.

I think he's a pretty bad director, but, having seen CORMAN'S WORLD, if I were a filmmaker there's nobody else I'd want as a producer cyclops
And I do like some of his stuff quite a lot. BUCKET OF BLOOD and THE INTRUDER were both good. BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS was fun too.
