Ted Bundy Talks About Pornography

In the Snob's "Hardgore" review, he jokes that it may have "created Ted Bundy".
And I've discovered the last interview of serial killer Bundy on the day before his execution.
He brags about how so-called "hardcore violent pornography" is what caused him to kill.
But to be frankly honest, Bundy's full of shit.
He was blaming pornography to try to get life imprisonment instead of the electric chair.
I've been watching & reading hardcore porn since I was 9 and it hasn't done a damn thing to me.
Bottom line, pornography is NOT responsible for the deaths of Bundy's victims.
The responsibility is with Ted Bundy himself and no one else.

In the early 90s, I was first introduced to Playboy and Hustler magazine at my local convenience store.
The clerk didn't even try to stop me from reading it.
Kind of like Randal from "Clerks".
I also discovered the Spice Channel on Pay-Per-View in 1996.
Guess you could say it was "Hardly From Cable".

First of all, the guy interviewing him his James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family. He most likely was the one who produced this interview and edited it, so no doubt there's an agenda involved. FotF is widely criticizer for arriving at their conclusions based on religious views, then backing them up with pseudo-psychology in their literature. They've even been labeled a hate group because they continue to distribute literature that demonizes LGBT people by using 40 year old, long discredited studies.

As for Bundy. I'm pretty sure at that point it was a given that he wasn't getting another reprieve. Maybe he was posturing for another appeal, I donno, but what if we give him the benefit of the doubt: What if he did reflect on the things he did, and found it hard to reconcile such horrific crimes with his view of himself as a "normal, good, moral person"? The feeling of being 'possessed' as he described would probably seem to fit how he felt about himself. "I could never do something like that. No, something else had to make me do it." and then there was the pornography.

I'm kind of a fan of these sort of "mind of the monster" interviews of pieces. I've heard similar arguments from people who were busted with kiddie porn. They describe becoming addicted to porn and having to "move up" to the harder stuff. I'm not saying they're full of shit, but just that I doubt that the porn was the only influence.

It's like when they tried to claim that Dungeons and Dragons turned kids crazy. When in fact, it just makes sense that escapist roleplay would appeal a lot to people who weren't entirely connected to reality. But those people were the minority of the millions who did play such games but never went all Mazes and Monsters. Same thing with porn. Obviously the violent stuff is going to appeal to someone who has some kind of psychological predisposition to sexual violence. One could argue that banning it would keep it out of such people's hands, but one could also make the same argument about banning alcohol to keep it out of the hands of alcoholics who would get smashed and drive home.

And the line about "There's stuff on cable TV that you would NEVER see in X-rated theaters a few years ago." That's just straight up propaganda. In 1989, even the Skinamax stuff was still pretty damn softcore. Compare that to some of the 70's stuff that Brad reviews.

The other day where I live was garbage day and I found some VHS tapes in a cardboard box labeled "FREE".

I think I remember seeing that on one of the tapes.
These cartoons were made in Germany, Denmark and Spain.
Even Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig and Sylvester gets some action in these cartoons.

Oh man, those weird European pornos (like the Snow White one in Libidomania, I'm guessing?) are creepy as all get out.

I've since seen a few of these (I probably need a better way to waste time), and the dubbed "Dirty Little Adult Cartoon" ones are actually pretty funny. However, the German ones involving Snow White are all sorts of creepy.

I watched both parts of "Deception Of A Generation" on YouTube and discovered that Phil Phillips personally knew & admired James Dobson.
