| Most of us I'm sure have interesting tales of experiences at the cinema, be them good, bad, funny or just plain weird. Share them here.
One memorable cinema moment for me was when I went to see The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, it was the day after school holidays had ended though I finished school the previous year so I didn't have school. I was expecting a small crowd, but I got less than small, I was the only one in the screening. This had never happened to me before and it was quite odd but fun, like having my own private cinema. |

| Iron Man 2, premier day.
Sitting in the theatre when suddenly...
Everything is played backwards and upside down and mismatched audio.
That was weird. though it was fun to see hammer moonwalk on the roof.
After 45 minutes or so they fixed it. |

| Oh, I have a little story for you guys. A little story called "Kevin Gets Pissed Off While Watching Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in the Theater."
So, on or right after release day, Entertainer13 tells me he wants to go see the movie because he's a huge Transformers fan. We decide to look up Ebert's review of it and, to my non-surprise, it's rated really low. But, we still go because, hell, I was bored and he really wanted to go.
We pick up his brother and my friend Servie and go to see what, unknowing to me, will be the most traumatic experience that I will have been through since getting hit by a car and spending 6 months in the hospital when I was 3 years old. I don't remember if I payed full price or the afternoon price, and I don't really care because, either way, I was still ripped off and I still want my money, time, and self-respect that this movie took from me.
I knew I was in for a really bad ride when the robot blender with the huge robo-dick was on the screen. When Nadine from Grace Under Fire was eating pot brownies, I was trying to go to sleep (or, ever better, go into a coma until the movie was over), but I just couldn't get comfortable. I don't remember the middle of the movie at all, and I thank everyday whatever diety decided to be merciful and take those memories from me...well, I would if they would have taken the memories of the entire movie from me. The 45 minute long fight scene at the end had me praying for death.
The entire time throughout the movie I was thinking to myself "I should just get up, leave, and go somewhere to sit and relax until this whole thing blows over. Sadly, since E13 was my ride, I had nowhere to go except the lobby and I would have had nothing to do for what would have felt like eternity.
So, the movie ends, I'm incredibly pissed off, E13 and his brother are basically in shock and suffering from Stockholm Syndrome towards the movie, and Servie legit liked it. I had no one to express my rage to, so I did what everyone would do in my situation; I went home, and when no one was around, I cried. Not tears of sadness, but tears of just sheer, unadulterated, unbridled rage. |

When I first saw Transformers 2, I thought it was ok at best. But as time goes by, the more I think about the movie, the less I like it. God that movie sucks...
When I went to see the american remake of Shutter, about 20 minutes before the end of the movie, the screen splits in half and the top half of the footage is on the bottom of the screen. Out of a screening of about 50 people, nobody says or does a thing about it! "Spectacular thing going on up there!" So after a couple of minutes sitting there, I get the gall to tell the staff about the problem, and it takes them like 5 minutes to fix it. Lame. |

| At a screening of Rocky Horror, the projection was so low, only the top half of the frame could be seen, and the sound just stopped. The audience all sang Science Fiction Double Feature in unison. Also, it was fun scaring people by riding the subway and walking up the street to a midnight showing of the original Nightmare on Elm Street dressed as Freddy. I had to pose for pictures. |

| I've got a couple. I'll just stick both stories in one comment.
- I went to the midnight showing of the Dark Knight. The ads hadn't even started to run yet when suddenly, we see the Joker hanging from the ledge, which for those who have seen the films, happens towards the very end. But the image itself was upside down, so he looked right side up and the color was off so he looked green.
- I went and saw the Friday the 13th remake and realized, while sitting there, that there was a four year old and six year old there. And wouldn't you know it, the minute Jason starts running with the big ass machete the kids start screaming. And didn't stop. Now, did the mother leave with the kids? Course not. And to top it all off when the movie was over, she goes back out and demands a refund because the movie scared her kids. Sadly, this isn't the first time I've seen people bring kids under the age of 8 to horror films. I bet one kids Dad had a lot of explaining to do after the nude scene in My Bloody Valentine 3D |

I had a fun experience like that at Iron Man 2. Except our audio was in Spanish. Which is odd, because I don't live anywhere near Mexico. But hearing Tony Stark in Spanish was hilarious. |

I reckon parents who bring children to movies they aren't ready for should be done for child abuse.
That can't happen in Australia because we have two restrictive ratings, MA15+ and R18+. Both movies you mentioned are rated R18+ so nobody under the age of 18 is permitted in to see either film without ID, even if they have their parents along with them. Makes seeing horror movies a lot more palatable because they're not full of noisy kids. |

| Greatest movie experience was seeing a midnight screening of The Room with Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero (Mark) giving autographs. If you have the chance to watch it take it. The crowd is a little offsetting with a lot of hipsters and what not, but as soon as the movie starts its a blast. Throwing spoons at the screen, playing catch in the isles with a football, and a lot of commentary about it. It's like being at a live showing of MST3k or Rifftrax. | Cactus_Matt wrote: | | That can't happen in Australia because we have two restrictive ratings, MA15+ and R18+. Isn't Australia sensor heavy on a lot of films and games, or at least outright banning them? |

The Room is an...experience. My friends and I made the mistake of sitting in the front row, which, because of the stage, is far enough back, and you can put you popcorn and stuff on the stage. Well, we didn't know about the spoons. It got so painful being hit, we started throwing them back into the audience. And at each other in the car home. I still have a spoon next to me right now. |

Me and my friends had the good fortune to sit in the back for the movie. If I was to go back to another one however, I would probably sit at the front for fun. |
