| I remember watching the episode of "Brad Tries" that features Four Loko energy malt beverage. It led to New Jersey college students being hospitalized for alcohol & caffeine induced heart attacks. Now there's a new controversy surrounding "Monster" energy drink. http://money.msn.com/business-news/article.aspx?feed=AP&date=20121022&id=15700794The drink is a 24-ounce can with 240 milligrams of caffeine (seven times the amount of caffeine than a 12-ounce can of Cola). The FDA announced that it led to the deaths of 5 individuals, including a 14-year-old girl who drank 2 cans in 24 hours. What do you think about this and would you or Brad even think about drinking this for yourselves?

I'm actually having one right now, in faIO /jegtpkl

| Monster's probably the second most popular energy drink here in the U.S. It's really nothing special. Why the FDA is concerning themselves with this and letting other shit slide by, I do not know. | |

| Let's do the math. That girl was just only 14-years-old. She drank 2 full cans that were 24 ounces and 240 milligrams of caffeine. Put that all together, that's approximately 48 ounces and 480 milligrams of caffeine she consumed all at one time. If she was someone who was small in size and drank that much on a daily basis, you can figure out why she died of a heart attack.

| Maybe age-restricting the sale of high-caffeine energy drinks to 16+ or something like that wouldn't be a bad idea. Don't treat it like alcohol or tobacco, where it's illegal to give them to kids, just make a parent take responsibility if their child is under a certain age. But banning it even for adults?
Reminds me of the recent bullshit with Buckyballs. Those things come plastered in warnings that they're not for children, yet because some irresponsible parent still gave them to a child, the FTC wants to ban them outright so that not even adults are allowed to have them? They're perfectly safe (and a ton of fun) provided you... y'know, don't eat them.

| Read the fine print on the can (before being jacked-up on caffeine). | |

| Don't be stupid. Why is that so hard for people to understand? Don't eat your toys, don't OD. Simple system. | |

| OK, so not only was this girl 14, but she also had heart issues? And the parents are suing?
Someone hold THOSE dipshits accountable for not teaching their daughter that if she drank too much caffeine she'd die.
