Well, I *could* get the Delorean up to 88 MPH...

They make DVD/VHS VCRs that can dupe between the two formats (I have one, and I've done it!), so if Brad has/can get ahold of one, you might be able to keep the Delorean at home.

Someone should make a shot-on-Shitteo remake of it, a la Monty Python's "L. F. Dibley" or The Amanda Show's "Block Blister" sketches.

The movie was shot in 16:9 (or some other wide screen format) wasn't it? Don't forget that for the true VHS experience, you'll have to pan and scan it.

You could rip the movie from the DVD and use any number of free programs to crop it down to 4:3. Virtualdub should be able to do that much and just cut off the sides of the image, but if you really want it to look good, you should go through and re-frame every scene individually. From there, either output it to a TV and record the signal, or burn it to a DVD and play it back while recording.

Then, I know there are ways to print parts of a VHS box on card stock and cut/fold it yourself. But printing an insert for a clam shell would be easier (and cooler).

If you have an old "Blockbuster Pre-viewed collection" slip box that they stuck movies in when they didn't have the original box, that could work too in the "Hey, look what I stumbled across in the $5 bin" sort of way.

Better yet, a shot-on-shiteo porno spoof that comes in a VHS double feature release with a Coleman Francis movie.

honestly i'm one of those people who just HATE VHS cause of the full screen which i hate to death. the shitty transfers was the VHS age for one. and my grandma used to rent them years ago she passed away in Jan. of (1994) and she'd copy them for herself. and the pictures on some films flash cause of the guards.

and they look like shit even more now than they did back than.,

and even some of my VHS tapes i had as a kid have aged badly and i don't miss the lines through the screen once you watch a movie so long. my TMNT VHS from (1990) has a scene in it where they are at the fire where it's wore out pretty much. i've had VHS also break on my ass the tape snap in fucking half. cause of how many times i've watched it.

that's why i prefer dvd's and blu-ray. and yes those can scratch but if you take care of them you really are fine.

my "Scream 2' dvd that i bought back in (1997) on dvd when i 1st got my 1st player is in mint condition still.

my point is that's what VHS means to me. and the same goes for Cassette tapes. i loved them as a kid but once i got my player my 1st cd player in (1993) i believe it was. now i hate them & it's the same reason i have. i have a shitload of Cassette tapes still to this day. but on some of them you get that annoying as fuck squeal when you play them.

i had "Made in the USA" which is my 1st "Beach Boys' album on tape back in the 80's. and i broke the damn thing from listening to it so much. it was i think the 1st cd i ever bought in (1991) i believe it was.

and the cd is now out of print and i believe pretty hard to find actually. the same is said for cd's as long as you take care of them you'll be fine. sorry for the ramble but that's why i hate VHS.

i've never seen it either. really i can't get into troma. many people love toxie and i downloaded the unrated version a couple years back. this is how it was for me and i hadn't seen it for years and i had never seen the uncut version.

the 1st half is full of bad fucking acting and it isn't very good, than toxie shows up and that helps the film well saves it really. and the actor who played him wasn't that bad actually. he was ok. the thing about troma for me isn't how high or low the budgets are cause i love low budgets films. it's the acting the ones i've caught have acting so fucking bad that my grandmother can prolly act better than any of them and she's never been in any film.

not sure if she's ever done any kind of acting but if she had it was in high school. and she'll be 89 this year so there's your answer on how long it prolly has been since she last took the stage. anyways the title though makes me laugh i do admit that.

Yeah thats probally the reason why i never got around to watching it it looks like it could be one of the movies were the titles the only funny thing about it(like with The 41 year old virgin who knockup sarah marshall and felt superbad for it).

for me it depends on who makes the film on how bad the acting is for me to sit thorugh it, if it's a Charles band or a Roger Corman film or hell a David Carradine film i'll watch it. but since Troma in most films don't have anyone i've ever heard of i just stay clear. and yea i realize that some people like the dudes who created South Park came from Troma for example.

but even their acting is terrible in those films.
