Here's actual behind-the-scenes footage of Jerry Lewis's unreleased & unfinished 1972 movie about the Holocaust. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068451/ When Jerry was asked at a press conference in 2008 when the movie will ever be released, he snapped and said "None of your goddamn business!"

thanxs for this, though i don't honestly mind Jerry lewis he's ok. he's done some good movies actually.
i am curious to see this one as well. just for curiosity's sake really. i'd rather watch his films over woody allen's
now i can't stand Woody Allen and i just can't see his appeal. i haven't seen that many of his films but the ones i've seen so far have sucked ass. no i haven't seen anne hall yet to be fair. but the only films of woody's i've liked are 'Scenes from a mall' and curse of the jade scorpian. that's it.
as for jerry lewis i've seen pretty much all the shit he did with dean martin and those are all fun movies. and the one that jerry lewis did in (1957) where it's more of a drama than a comedy i forget the name of it at the moment. he's i think a cop in it or something. that's a a good one.

Meh. To me, the circumstances surrounding the film have always been more interesting than how the actual film itself sounds. It doesn't sound all that terrible but it doesn't sound all that good, either, not even for camp value. Plus, with the years and years of infamous cult hype and mystique behind it, I can't help but feel that it's only going to be disappointingly mediocre when it's finally released. It's essentially the cinematic equivalent of Guns N' Roses' 'Chinese Democracy'.

i think that's the reason that it hasn't been released cause of how fucking BAD it is. but i agree even though it prolly is a pretty bad film. still it'd be a fun movie to see even if it to quote 'Donald Sutehrland' in 'Animal House'
a piece of shit.

The thing is, it doesn't really sound all that terrible, at least not on a technical level. I doubt we're looking at the next 'Night of the Ghouls' or 'The Dead Talk Back' or any other long-lost 'MST3k'-worthy fodder. From what it appears, the movie's worst crime is its misguided handling of the subject matter.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I guess we'll just have to wait until Jerry Lewis passes on to finally find out.

I dunno man, I think even when Jerry passes, he'll probably make sure his estate also refuses to release the movie.
Then again, I'm sure if the right price comes their way, they'll probably release it anyway...

It'd definitely be an interesting watch. Maybe they'll go the Sleepaway Camp 4 route and just cobble the thing together, only minus stock footage since this movie had no predecessors.
