| My favorites were the Windup girl An absolutely fantastic look into post oil Thailand as told through some of the most well written prose of the decade along with visceral action, intriguing, interweaving story lines and Three of my favorite Science Fiction characters ever. And The Dervish House Any description I can give of this book will not give it justice so let me just give you this link http://www.amazon.com/Dervish-House-Ian-McDonald/dp/1616142049 and strongly urge you to BUY IT. | |

| Honestly, I don't think I read any books from this year... or this decade. The "youngest" book I've read in my entire life was The Nature of Monsters by Clare Clark, but that came out in 2007... | |

May I ask why? This has been a very good decade for literature.

This has been a very good decade for literature. It could be because I've rarely given modern books a chance. I personally think that aside from a few authors, this decade hasn't been one for great literature.

| I've been on a William S Burroughs kick the last couple of years and am starting to get into Hunter S Thompson. I've read several other books this year but nothing of any note. | |
