All of that went over my head completely. Silly Yanks.

Then again I haven't seen that movie.

Ahh. I rarely watch or like stoner comedies, so I dunno if it'd be my thing.

Also, while I'm here:

I consider it a guilty pleasure mainly because I feel it could be a lot better; as much as I love the film, some of its flaws usually end up being my focus when people mention it. Yet I loved the idea and there were some great songs, also I absolutely love Sarah Brightman and I wish she had some more screen time. My main problems were that while I did like the character of Pavi; the actors playing the children were painfully awful, I felt that some of the gore was out of place and felt like Bousman had to get a bit of "Saw" style violence shoe-horned in, and I felt that there was some genuine satire that I think the film was trying to get across - but it kept obscuring it.

That's what makes it a guilty pleasure: I know I'm in the vast minority.

I love this movie. I'll agree it's not the Coen Bros. best effort, but I enjoyed it lots. Maybe it's because I haven't seen the original, but I don't know why it's considered an awful remake.

Also,

Yeah. It's stupid as hell and bastardizes my favourite science (Genetics), but I thought it was a fine popcorn flick.

I too thought that Resurrection wasn't too bad and a pretty good stupid movie.

Yeah you mentioned that in the Screenshot thread. I thought RoboCop 2 was enjoyable, though I did have to confirm which one it was because it's been so long since I've seen them - I forgot which was the fun sequel (this one) and the god awful one (3...)

I remember thinking it was awful. It's actually been awhile since I've seen all the Robocop flicks; actually consumed them all in one night about 3 years ago. I was actually expecting to hate them, simply because I detest Paul Verhoeven. Surprise surprise, Robocop turned out to be the one movie by him I enjoyed. My friend was insistent I see them though so I decided to try 'em.

While I'm here - I've got 3, even if two are the same series.

(Dumb Fun)

I'm stretching this one. Truth be told, it didn't make me laugh like the original - but I loved John Astin as the mad doctor.

And lastly,

This movie is fucking genious. One of my all time favourite B-Movies, though the stupidity is usually overwhelming for most it seems. Sad, I still say it is genious in its own little way.

Eh, Death Proof isn't that bad. Coming after Planet Terror, it brings Grindhouse's pacing to a screeching halt, but when taken on it's own, Death Proof really works. All the talk is annoying at first, but it all comes together in the end.

It is truly awesome! The commentary track is great as well and it seemed they had a ton of fun making it. Only thing that is lackluster is the boss-fight at the end, it didnt feel right imo, it should just have been several Klowns instead of that big Braindead-ripoff/homage-thing.

The titletrack is great too (one of the first songs that I downloaded when internet came to my town in the 90s) - got me into that band and then I realized they (The Dickeis) had made a cover on another awesome thing (The Bananasplits) Very Happy

It couldn't have been a Braindead homage or rip off, as Killer Klowns came out in a completely different decade as BrainDead. BrainDead came out in 92 I think, and Klowns was 1986/7. Loved the theme too; and I actually haven't heard the commentary. I have an old VHS tape.

I want to like Death Proof. I really, really do. I love Tarantino, and it had great moments. The actual car chases and the ending were absolutely fantastic. Yet I was bored to death with all the chatter that took up so goddamn much. However, enjoying a larger portion of its latter half (Especially the ending, once again - which was fucking ace.) I can't say it was a bad movie, it was all very technically sound - I just wish it had more for me to like.

Here's 2 more guilty pleasures, from the same director coincidentally enough:

Two of my all time favorite cult classics. I make all my friends watch Killer Klowns (probably why so many have left). I even have the score to Killer Klowns as well as the original release of the title song from The Dickies.

Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes is pure comedy gold.

Oh snap! You're right... but that would mean... Braindead ripped-off Killer Klowns Shocked Razz
