Oh God...all I ever saw of that show was a TV spot and I still remember it all these years later...They took virtually every cheap 80's cliche they could think of and crammed it into a 30 second commercial. They even had the main characters all doing the Breakfast Club dance...

See, the problem with That 80's Show was the execution of it as opposed to That 70's Show...

That 70's Show: We may take place in the 70's, but not every joke is about pop culture of the 70's, we're funny with our sitcom writing...

That 80's Show: WOOOO! LOOK AT ALL OF THESE 80'S CLICHES IN TEH PUNCHLINES! 80'S POP CULTURE! COME ON FOLKS, THIS IS FUNNY, WE'RE TALKING NONSTOP ABOUT 80'S CULTURE! WOOOOO!

80's Dan should do an episode about "Super Fuzz" (an action comedy about a cop who gains superhuman powers after accidentally blowing up an atomic bomb in the sky with a gun)!

Megaforce seems perfect for 80's Dan.

I'm amazed no one's suggested this yet, but I think it would be great to see Dan's reaction to the 2006 version of Miami Vice.

Holy crap, that's Barry Bostwick!

Damn I wish I had some suggestions for this though. The problem is that I'd been 5 for exactly 3 days when the 80s ended so I don't have a lot of very clear memories from that time.

I think 80's Dan reviewing a animated film could be cool to see. American Pop would make a good choice.

80s music artists and where they ended up
I'm sure Dan would be ecstatic that Bono is still doing his thing

two words: Zoobilie Zoo.

I'm just picturing Dan being all excited watching an obviously coked up Ben Vereen, with everyone else being all ".....Uh, he was totally on drugs, wasn't he?"

With the new American Godzilla movie coming out soon, I think a 80's Dan episode of Godzilla 1985 would be fun. Godzilla 1985 is the only Godzilla film released in the US in the 80's. Dr. Pepper even help market the movie back then as well.

I'm a huge fan of Terrence Hill and Bud Spencer and Super Fuzz (or Supercop in Germany) is really amazing.
Would love to see it reviewed by Brad in some way.

Here is another forgotten Sci-Fi film that is prefect for 80's Dan.

How does Brad feel about anime? Are there any ROBOTECH fans here?

I'd like to request Cannon's ROBOTECH: THE MOVIE (1986). Spliced from two different animes, a TV show, and the movie MEGAZONE 23 PART 1, I actually find this a really underrated film. And ROBOTECH: THE MOVIE and MEGAZONE 23 are two completely different films, believe me. The only problem is the full, uncut ROBOTECH MOVIE is not legally available anywhere as far as I know. I own a bootleg.

ROBOTECH: THE MOVIE actually takes place in the year 2027, but because of the music, and the MEGAZONE 23 footage, this movie screams 1980s.

Another '80s rarity I could make a request for then is the TV series "THE MASTER" with Lee Van Cleef and Timothy Van Patten. Or perhaps it's best saved for Kung Tai Ted? They share the same theme song I've noticed. Thirteen episodes aired in 1984 and it was cancelled the same year. The show was edited by Film Ventures International and the episodes became a series of movies, MASTER NINJA.

MST3K featured the first two "films" in their third Season, and are two of my favorite Joel episodes. It would be cool if Brad, or even Kung Tai Ted featured the entire series, or at least the next nine episodes, because it really is a pretty decent show.

The Puppetmaster (1989) could make a good show.

And he can act surprised when Dan learns there's 10 sequels.

90's Kid can review most of those.

So, it looks like 80's Dan has just sort of become a Halloween and Christmas thing. In that vein I have a Halloween suggestion-

Garfield's Halloween Adventure

The recent discussion on Radiodrome regarding the 'Tommy Westphall Universe,' and the possibility of fitting 80's Dan into it somehow, got my wheels turning. A couple of suggestions for references to off-camera events if there's even a possibility of this happening:

1. After his arrest, Dan is taken for booking to the "Hill Street" precinct.
2. After seeing him on TV, Det. John Munch calls Dan from SVU to see if he might be linked to crimes in New York (creative video clipping might help this)
3. Travis Crabtree was airlifted to "Chicago Hope" to treat his gunshot wound

And then the group should have to watch "Perfect" (the Travolta/Jamie Lee Curtis 80's movie) as court-ordered rehabilitation for Dan on the correct ways of finding a date.

Scarface (of course the 80s version) would make a great episode, especially if a member of the gang (probably Travis or Dolly) claimed to hate the movie because there is a following of people who like to say how Scarface is overrated, and it could be like The Shining N.C. review and also have 80s Dan become a kingpin after breaking out of jail.

Why did nobody suggest Scarface?

If Brad can't always bring the entire cast together, could 80'S DAN be just him in character reviewing '80s films or TV shows? Or is that too Cinema Snob? He could talk about MANIMAL, or anything he wouldn't do on the Cinema Snob show.
