I shot the film on weekends from February to April of 2010. Been back and forth on cutting it. Working on self distributing the film myself so I won't have to deal with the middle man aka studios taking money from me for my work. To sum it up, it's about a man who becomes possessed while his niece is house sitting. I'm in pre-production right now on a sequel.

I don't have the money to hire an artist to do poster work. We're just getting the movie out there and then what we get with digital sales will go towards a DVD and Blu-ray.

You don't really need an artist these days, as Photoshop pretty much can create anything you need. Just use your imagination.
I know this is nothing great, but I threw it together in under an hour with Photoshop.

I'm going to give an update since it's a while. Casting and re-shoots were a disaster. I got an actual actress and she fucked me over good on the film and bailed. Luckily, she didn't get paid, and no money was wasted. I did manage to re-frame the film to scope (2.35:1), but I must ultimately ditch the scope footage for now and re-edit the film in it's original 1.78 shooting ratio because I have something special and something gimmicky planned for the film.
The "something special" is a VHS cut of the film, to give it that found footage feel. This is the reason why I am ditching the scope footage and just re-doing it later. I work with the original video, I'll create a Full Frame, 1.33:1, cut to how I would envision it as if this was back in the days of VHS. I am also going to run it through several old, worn, ancient VHS tapes and an old VCR that's about 30 years old. I have two photo examples of how this is gonna look:
This is essentially how it looks when both my Scope (2.35:1) and my Full Frame (1.33:1) are on the same Open Matted (1.78:1) image. You will lose image on the side with the Full Frame, but gain image on the top and bottom of the screen. My decision for basing the VHS cut off the 1.78 Open Matte was due to the fact that too much image would be lost from the 2.35:1 version if I were to crop that to Full Frame and I don't want that. So, that's the compromise.
And this is the side by side comparison and "Director Approved", by me, lol. I know there's some people, like Brad, who love these old worn and beat up VHS versions of films and I kinda wanted to appeal to that audience, but I didn't want to completely destroy the vision for my film in the process of doing that.
Now, for the gimmicky part, we're putting out a 3D cut of the film. This 3D version will be in the Green / Magenta Anaglyph 3D which was used for Ice Age 3D and My Bloody Valentine 3D. After doing several tests on scenes, I felt that it really worked for the film. One scene in particular is where my character is sitting at the table with his nose bleeding. The detail in how I am popping out and there's depth. I really liked it. And another shot that wowed me was when the character Rebecca picks up the drawing and there's strong depth from where the paper is at versus the wall and the door. I was stunned at how crazy it was and amazing it was. Here's a trailer I did with the film in scope and converted to 3D. You can still see it pretty good without glasses, but the Green / Magenta glasses will help.
Also, to give more explanation about scope, it's my preferred vision. The way the image is opened up more is what draws my attention to it compared to the 1.78/85 aspect ratio. I've been in talks with several actresses in helping me finish the film. We only have an hour of edited film and I've explained that it'll take possibly three to four days to film and then a day or two for the ADR to be done. We've also done a documentary on the film which is almost completed. So, thanks to Traumatic Possession 3D, we'll have two for one.
