Here's a list of what I like to call the goriest films I've ever seen.
Dead Alive Faces of Death Men Behind The Sun RoboCop Total Recall Natural Born Killers Machine Gun Girl Hostel Day of the Dead

I'm not much of a gorehound . The goriest ones I've seen that I recall:
EVIL DEAD (remake) THE FLY (remake) TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (original) ROBOCOP HOSTEL THE INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN THE GIANT SPIDER INVASION Most of Fulci and Argento's stuff that I've seen is pretty over-the-top.
It wasn't overly gory but OASIS OF THE ZOMBIES had the most creative use of live maggots as makeup.

I think Peter Jackson's Braindead is by FAR the goriest film I've seen to date
Sure there are plenty of others but that scene alone just overshadows them all when I try to think of any

I seen this movie when I was a young child. Still one of my favorites.
Can't remember any others that have made any impact. I mostly find gore to be silly.

Here's a scene from the Robin Williams movie "The Fisher King". It's one of those "Holy shit, that was dark" moments.

The final battle in Reanimator is quite gory. IIRC, someone is strangled by someone's intestines, among other things.

There's no way this is going to be a comprehensive list because I went through a 5 year stint of watching obscure 80's horror films and drinking heavily but I'll do my best with the ones that stand out the most:
Braindead or Dead Alive (1992) Dawn of the Dead (1978) Day of the Dead (1985) Zombie Flesh Eaters or Zombi (1979) City of the Living Dead (1980) The Beyond (1981) House by the Cemetery (1981) Cannibal Holocaust (1980) Cannibal Ferox (1981) Return of the Living Dead 3 (1993) The Thing (1982) The Fly (1986) The Blob (1986) The Burning (1981) The Intruder (1989) Fist of the North Star (1986) Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993) Jason X (2001) Men Behind The Sun (1988) Hellraiser (1987) Hellbound: Hellraiser 2 (1988)
I've left out more modern movies like the Saw and Hostel series and slasher remakes because the gore in those films just all blurs into one forgettable exercise in pointlessness to me (although I do think the first Saw is a legitimately good movie).

Hm, I guess that would be Dead Alive (Braindead), Story of Rikki (next to some other weird Japanese masterpieces), Meet the Feebles (yes, I count that puppet movie, too), Cannibal! The Musical and maybe some older trash horror movies like "Redneck Zombies".

Braindead/Dead Alive, Beyond the Limits, Tokyo Gore Police, Laid to Rest 2, Poultrygeist, Burning Moon
I could list plenty of fairly gory movies but I'm trying to only think of the ones that truly went above and beyond.
