| I went and saw this yesterday, and, holy shit where do I begin Well first of all Leonardo DiCaprio is fucking awesome, I would even say this is his best performance. Everybody else is really solid too, even Jonah Hill is great which I honestly didn't expect. Fucking Rob Reiner plays DiCaprio's dad which was a bit random but kinda cool. The plot is basically just a giant train-wreck full of sex, drugs and money, but it never gets dull or mind-numbing. Really didn't feel like a 3 hour movie to sit through. The amount of nudity in this thing must be the highest I've EVER seen in ANYTHING, including porn. There's so much tits, pussy and female full-frontal nudity that i lost count by the 30 minute mark (even Joah Hill's half-erect penis makes a brief appearance, which I really didn't need to see...) Btw I noticed some interesting similarities with this movie and Scorsese's Casino: [SPOILER ALERT!] - Spoiler:
Both have a main guy running a business where the clients believe they'll get rich but in the long run the "house" is (almost) the only one who wins. Both companies are involved in criminal activity. Both protagonists have a short and fat best friend, who ends up damaging their business. Both have a trophy wife, both of their marriages end violently and in both movies one of them tries to take the kid(s) from the other. In both movies the main guy gets in trouble with the FBI and eventually is forced to retire the business. Both movies are 3 hours long
What's also interesting is that the film is rated only 16 here in Finland which is the second-highest rating... Anyway, I highly recommend this | |

| That were the most easy 3 hours I ever had in my life. Great movie with an awesome DiCaprio (Give him the Academy Award!). And I love the fact, that they are thinking about a extended version on DVD/BD with 4 hours...I'm sold | |
