| does any here enjoy this channel in it's current "Hipster" incarnation??
to me, i loved the channel back in the day when it was still techtv.
after the merger i enjoyed seeing shows like electric playground, but i thought it was total blasphemy to all things tech to kick leo laporte to the curb in order to extremely dumb down the show for unemployed potheads living in their mom's basement.

| Electric Playground and Adam Sessler are the only things of worth on that channel, everything else is just embarrassing. | |

| I liked it a few years ago when they actually had shows about video games and not re-runs of cops 24/7 | |

| Attack of the show keeps dumbing itself down every season.
it was barely watchable with olivia munn as co-host but now it's all about how many hipster/emo phrases can be said in 30 seconds.

| The channel has always been a joke. But it is getting worst by degrading itself into MTV standards lately however. | |

| I liked it when it had more inhouse produced shows about video games. Shows like Filter, X-Play, AOTS, Cheat! and Judgment Day took many hours of my day. But then out of nowhere shows got canceled, most I didn't care about. Only Judgment Day, a better review show then X-Play IMO I cared about. They brought in a lot of eye candy. And while easy on the eyes, you know that women like Kristin Holt, Olivia Munn and Layla Kayleigh didn't care about video games or tech issues. Hell, a lot of the time I question if Morgan Webb cared and she's been on there the longest.
But since I have Direct TV I haven't seen it since late Oct. And too tell you the truth, I don't miss it.

| I haven't watched g4 in years because it has become the worst channel I have ever seen. It is almost nothing but COPS and Cheaters. What the fuck happened to this channel? It used to be good (or at least watchable). Now even their good shows have ether been canceled or feel like they have been beaten with the shit stick and left to die on air.
The G4 website actually has 2 shows which I follow (Feedback and Sessler's Soapbox) but as far as I'm concerned the channel is dead.

| I just got the channel added to my cable package about 6 months or so ago when they decided to throw some new stuff into the package I have...And I have watched it maybe a total of 5 hrs since then.
I keep hearing about how great it used to be back in the day, I wish I could have seen it then. Instead now I have this Spike TV lite channel that plays reruns of Cops and Cheaters all night, with only one show related to video games still on the air.
Although I do like Ninja Warrior when they play it. (The original Japanese one, not the US version or the show they had training people for the US one.)

| What used to be one of my favorite networks went down the toilet faster than volcanic diahrrea. The best of both Tech and G4 networks + anime and web shows. Then all the Tech shows vanished. Then the video game shows disappeared. The anime went bye bye and in came all the crap shows. Now it is nothing more than a cheap Spike TV wannabe. If it weren't for corporate sponsors I'd doubt they'd be on the air anymore. | |

| I hate to bump a thread a month old but, this is relevant now I guess: Adam Sessler and Kevin Pereira announced they're leaving G4, meaning that the only TechTV survivor left is Morgan Webb, and the last of the ZDTV survivors is departing.
It saddens me. I mainly lost interest in the channel once they fired Martin Sargent (If you never caught him, I recommend looking him up. He's proto Tosh.O, only genuinely funny), but losing Adam Sessler... just really saddens me. I'd been watching him talk about video games since the late 90s when he hosted Gamespot TV on ZDTV, and he's one of the only major video game critics I enjoy.

| mm, TechTV. X-Play with sketches where Adam staples himself in the nuts, and they made fun of the games that were bad, as well as piss off fan boys (adam eating Yi Gi Oh cards). I did like Unscrewed, it was rather humorous as well.
Don't forget about the Anime. TechTV and Toonami were the prime source of Non-On Demand anime.

| Not just that, but the Nocturnal Emissions block. I remember they'd have an hour dedicated to funny flashes like Dr. Tran and really odd things from Japan.
Those were the days. Now it's all Cops, Cheaters, Cops 2.0, shows that were too awful to survive on other channels and so get reruns on G4...

| Don't watch G4 all that often, but I do like when they occasionally play Bruce Lee flicks. | |

| I liked this channel when it had shows like Filter and Icons, and they would occasionally show gameplay clips, like the final boss from Super Metroid, during the commercials. | |

| I've heard that it's changing it's name to Esquire (a channel which will aim at metrosexual audience). It will featured cooking, travel & non-sport related male programming. Shows such as "X-Play" & "Attack of the Show!" has aired their final episodes. I also enjoyed watching other programs like "Bomb Patrol Afghanistan" & "Anime Unleashed". For me, G4 will surely be missed. | |
