| Not really all that surprising. Well to be honest I could care less for POINT BLANK, and seeing is the JUNGLE BOOK is probably public domain now it was bound to happen sooner or later. I remember hearing about a second DAY OF THE DEAD remake years back, but yes the previous remake was back enough.
I enjoyed the Sean Connery LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY MEN, but since it was apparently nothing like the graphic novel, I honestly don't think I'd mind a second crack at it.

| Apparently next year they're doing a re-boot/remake of Paranormal Activity, if the rumors are correct...
.......Why?!? | |

| League of extordary genitle men is techically not a remake cause its jsut re-adapting the comics NOT basing it on the shitty ass movie with sean connery. hopefully this verison will acutally be good cause i love those comics. | |

.......Why?!? Really a reboot of a found footage movie franchise? I personally liked 1-3. PA4, I called BETRAYAL on in a topic a while ago. But I don't think it deserves a reboot. They already did two prequels and one sequel.

| I'm going by Box Office Mojo, which has scheduled a movie called "Paranormal Activity" for Jan 2014.
That, and a few rumors I heard floating around.

| There was a whole lawsuit thing with the original League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, so the studio might be redoing this to re-coup some of their money and/or in a round about way cut out the guys that sued.
"Supposedly" the first movie script was "similar" to some script a couple of "writers" had been passing around Hollywood. When LXG came out they sued the studio based on that claim. Sources indicated that the lawsuit was mostly baseless and as such they went to court. However after a considerable amount of testimony the studio ended up settling with the "writers" in question.
Prior to LXG, Alan Moore (the original graphic novel writer) had an "I don't care" attitude about Hollywood making movies from his stories as long as they were shared rights things. (However he will not allow movies to be made of anything has full control over) After the lawsuit that changed. He had been called on to testify in the studio's favor and was shocked/pissed off when the studios caved and made a settlement deal. To him it was basically saying that they were all guilty of plagiarism. Now Alan Moore specifically asks that his name be removed from the credits of any such movies and will have absolutely zero to do with any of these movies.

Tried looking it up, and I couldn't find it. But I heard that there will be a new Scarface in the spirit of the past 2 (1930's version and 1980'd version), but will have a different setting. So I guess it wouldn't matter at this point if a remake gets a remake. But I am still very anti-remake.

| Won't believe? I believe hollywood will remake everything. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a remake of The Cinema Snob movie coming soon. For the longest time Evil Dead was one of those movies I thought would never be remade. And now they've done that, so there's just nothing that can surprise me anymore. They're even remaking Toxie for fuck's sake. | |

| I just hope studios go bankrupt so that there won't be any more blockbuster-mania and EXTREME REMAKE-NESS.
Seriously, blockbusters like RIPD and the Lone Ranger could be a sign that studios will either make films smaller/cheaper or continue to go big and go bankrupt.
But so many remakes are not necessary because you could just re-release the damn movies for a few weeks and make an easy few million. People will love to experience movies on the big screen for a second time, or a first time if they first saw the movie online/dvd.

To each their own on opinions, but people do spend money on movies, so studios would be stupid to not consider the people's movie-related spending habits. Don't like major studio films, then avoid that shit like the plague.
