Trolls Hit "Paranoia" imdb page

It was inevitable, but trolls were sent over in mass to the "Paranoia" imdb page to mark down the film's rating and fill up the review and comments section with insults and vulgarities. Looks like many of them have been taken down and flagged; but if you liked "Paranoia" like a lot of the fans did, please head on over and give it an honest rating. The movie was really good and doesn't deserve the same treatment trolls other internet videos.

Why all of the trolling of Paranoia?

I voted it a 10. I know I would probably really give it a 7 or an 8, but I'm trying to balance out all of the troll hits that it's getting. Feel free to do the same.

Ah, I see. I was asking because it seemed like these trolls were targeting it for a specific purpose rather then just to be trolls.

Yes, if you check out the posting history of tony965070, Jon_Death they are indeed trolls. These guys have quite notable problems in the area of their mindhead.

How I miss the days when to be a troll meant being witty, nonsensical and above all prudent...

Troll quality, I notice, has taken a dive in the last 4-5 years IMO everywhere that comments can be made (message boards, imdb, etc). It used to be trolls didn't have to do much to stir up trouble, get people angry, cause debates, etc, but now it seems trolls aren't even trying to be witty at all, it's just turned into a whole big "BLARG, I ARE A TROLL!"

IMDB hasn't meant a damn thing since, like, 2003.

Yeah. I would say they aren't even Trolls in the old sense of the word. Just wild anal douchnozzles.

I remember when IMDB used to be relatively free of trolls back pre-2004. There were lots of fun boards too. The "Aliens" one was my favourite - troll free, funny, and a place where everyone could have a laugh. We were all big fans of the film there, and practically no insults were thrown whatsoever. Seriously. No idea what its like now... probably not so cool anymore.

Say if we built a community here and then the Snob got famous. Our original humble community from pre-fame would eventually become a pretty cold, feckless place to be, in the current internet climate. In time it would be resentment and troll ridden like the rest of Interspace, sadly. And no fun. Sort of seeing a pattern here, eh.

I get what you mean IG, what I more meant was how trolls have started to try less and less in terms of riling people up. It used to be, IMO anyway, that trolls could start debate/rile people up by being much more subtle, much more devil's advocate, and wouldn't be so obviously blatant and foul mouthed. Now, it seems all trolls like to do is curse, call things gay, and link to gay porn.

There was this good picture of what a modern troll really is. I suppose you've seen it. It kinda explains how 'modern' trolls take themselves too seriously, always mean what they say and as a result are quite mean spirited. Picture made me laugh...

What happened to the internet over the last six years anyway? Everywhere I go its degenerated into permanent flaming.
